The Productive House (2019)

The productive house is a house that functions as a power station. It produces and stores energy. The aim of the Mosayebi design studio, assisted by A/S, was to design exemplary projects, which develop form, space and material on the grounds of the prinicples of a specific energy source and translate it into a specific form of habitation. For this purpose, three different types of energy were chosen: solar radiation, geothermal energy, and waste heat. The designs ranged from open, light-flooded and thin-skinned halls to thick-walled, shaded and solid cavities. The specific quality of the spaces of habitation, the community of habitants, and the interior climate were developed based on different narratives.
